body
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The job classification and description of Water Services Technician I/II was created in 2007. The job duties and work assignments, in the job description are paraprofessional in nature; as such, the classification was placed in the General Services Bargaining Unit based on those job duties.

Over the course of time, the job duties have evolved and are more accurately reflective of maintenance and operators duties. It is recommended that the job classifications of Water Services Technician I/II be moved into the AFSCME Maintenance and Operators bargaining unit.

Representatives from the City and from AFSCME have met and conferred over the proposed job description changes and the unit change.

STRATEGIC VISION:
3A. Fiscal Health: Promote City's transparency & fiscal fluency.

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to this unit change and job description amendment.
