BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Mayor will present a proclamation to the City of Lodi’s Public Library for hosting educational activities in recognition of Black History Month. The Library is highlighting the art of Alma Thomas, a prominent African American artist and high school art teacher. By showcasing her art, the Library strives to enrich the City’s culture, emphasize the impact of African Americans on American history, and provide a safe and nurturing space for inclusivity.
