BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This project included localized pavement repair, resurfacing of the pavement, and replacing the traffic striping. The project limits included Lower Sacramento Road (from Kettleman Lane to Turner Road).
On May 10, 2023, Knife River Construction ("KRC") submitted their bid of $1,479,835, which was $835,865 under the engineer's estimate. On June 21, 2023, Council authorized the City Manager to award the contract to DSS Company, dba Knife River Construction for $1,479,835 with the authority to execute change orders in the amount not-to-exceed $100,000.

Change Order No. 1 ($114,337.88) included additional pavement resurfacing, traffic control modification, electrical work requested by CalTrans required by the encroachment permit, and to replace and supply additional manhole frame and covers requested by staff.
Change Order No. 2 ($2,588) included modifications to the traffic legend markings.
