BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This project consists of adjusting water valves and manhole frames and covers to grade, performing necessary pavement repairs at certain locations throughout the City, and other incidental and related work (collectively the "Project"). The Project details are shown on the plans and specifications.
The Project is necessary because the pavement (after a resurfacing project or due to differential settlement) around utility frames and covers can deteriorate and cause uneven surfaces. This Project will target various locations throughout the City (primarily on high-volume roadways) that were previously resurfaced using a cape seal method, to minimize uneven surfaces and improve ride quality. The targeted high-volume roadways are shown on Exhibit A.
The complete Project plans and specifications are on file in the Public Works Department and will be provided to potential bidders. The planned Project bid opening date is July 18, 2024, and the Project estimate is $300,000.
Staff recommends approving the proposed Project plans and specifications and authorizing the advertisement of bids.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The project will reduce annual maintenance costs and claims associated with the repaired defects.
FUNDING AVAILABLE:
Funding will be identified at the time of award.
