BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
There are approximately 400 miles of sidewalk within the City of Lodi. The State of California Streets and Highways code establishes a property owner's duty to a city to maintain the abutting sidewalk in a condition that will not endanger persons or property nor interfere with public use.

On October 5, 2005, Council adopted a Sidewalk Maintenance Policy that establishes certain sidewalk defects that will be remedied by the City at no cost to the adjacent property owner.
