body

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

On September 6, 2023, Council authorized the award of a contract to Bockmon & Woody Electric Company, in the amount of $86,000.

The project consisted of removing the existing emergency backup power system, furnish and install a new power inverter system, and other related and incidental work.  The project was completed in January 2024, and the final contract price was $86,000.

Following acceptance by the City Council, as required by law, the City Engineer will file a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder’s office.  The notice serves to notify vendors and subcontractors that the project is complete and begins their 30-day period to file a stop notice requiring the City to withhold payments from the prime contractor in the event of a payment dispute.

STRATEGIC VISION:

5C. Infrastructure: Address deferred maintenance.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This project will reduce the costs associated with maintaining the failing backup power system that previously existed.  This project does not impact the General Fund.

FUNDING AVAILABLE:

The project was funded by Prop 1B State of Good Repair Fund (60599000.77020).
