BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Each year, City Council allocates funding to support the arts. In FY 2024-25, Council allocated $39,060 for Arts Grants. The Lodi Arts Commission (LAC) solicits applicants for arts grants, reviewing grant applications and recommending applicants for funding to City Council.
For FY 2024-25 funding, the LAC recommends Council earmark $16,000 to support the Lodi Arts Foundation's Taco Truck Cook-Off and The Art Hop. The remaining $23,060 is recommended to be divided, with $20,550 for grant awards and $2,510 for mini-grants (projects $1,000 and below).
A notice for grant applications was posted on the city's webpage, through social media and on Lodi Arts Foundation's website and social media. Grant applications for project grants over $1,001 were due no later than May 29, 2024. Eight (8) grant applications were received for six (6) projects and reviewed by a subcommittee of the LAC. Refer to Summary Report of Grant Submissions attachment. On August 14, 2024, the LAC voted 7-0 to recommend all eight (8) applications for funding.
