Adopt a resolution authorizing the acceptance of donations from the June N. Mills Revocable Trust to the Lodi Animal Shelter ($100,000) and Lodi Public Library ($100,000) and appropriate funds for each department's projects.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The June N. Mills Revocable Trust donated $100,000 to the Lodi Animal Shelter and $100,000 to the Lodi Public Library. The June N. Mills Revocable Trust was created in 2014, recording Ms. Mills' wishes to offer these gifts to specific organizations to give back to the community she grew up in. Both the Lodi Animal Shelter and Lodi Public Library would like to thank Ms. Mills and the administrators of the June N. Mills Revocable Trust for these generous donations.
The Lodi Animal Shelter proposes to use the donated funds to purchase necessary items, such as supplies and equipment, once the new Animal Shelter is built. The donations will be used to offset the costs of medical devices and specialty supplies necessary for shelter operations. These donated funds will allow the Animal Shelter to grow as a community cornerstone, take advantage of innovative and industry-leading techniques, and enhance the human-animal bond by keeping pets and their owners together.
The Lodi Public Library proposes to use the donated funds for projects that will enhance the ability to support the community. This will include projects such as updating the security gates, replacing the PA system, updating the sound system in the Community Room, and updating the Library staff breakroom that the Department could not do otherwise.
