BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Present a proclamation declaring October 4, 2024, as National Manufacturing Day and October as Manufacturing Awareness and Appreciation Month in Lodi. National Manufacturing Day is celebrated annually on the first Friday of October to recognize the contributions of manufacturing and to educate the community about manufacturing career opportunities. Since California has the largest number of manufacturers in the nation, the entire month of October is dedicated as Manufacturing Awareness and Appreciation month. During October, manufacturers open their doors to the community to inspire a future generation of manufacturers.
Therefore, in recognition of National Manufacturing Day and Manufacturing Awareness and Appreciation Month, Mayor Craig, on behalf of the Lodi City Council, proclaims October 4, 2024, as National Manufacturing Day and October as Manufacturing Awareness and Appreciation Month in Lodi.
The proclamation will be accepted by Vijay Singh, Vice President of Manufacturing Operations at Cepheid; and Brian Henrikson, Distribution Center Manager at Pacific Coast Producers.
