BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Consistent with Lodi Municipal Code 3.20.100, City Council must review and approve the specifications and plans for the purchase of supplies when the estimated value is greater than the City Manager's delegated authority. The specifications for asphalt material are on file in the Public Works Department, and the project estimate is $100,000. If approved, the planned bid opening date is April 16, 2025.
The asphalt materials purchase is needed to carry out preventive street maintenance and repairs. The amount of asphalt requested (approximately 1,600 tons) for Fiscal Years 2025/26 and 2026/2027 will allow crews to perform localized street repairs, thin overlays, and asphalt patching of large sidewalk offsets.
The initial term of the Contract is two year and includes two optional, one-year extensions, for a total of four years, if all extensions are executed. Staff will request Council approval for contract amendments that exercise extensions.
