BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Administrative Professionals Week is an annual celebration observed nationally to recognize the contributions of administrative professionals to the success of their organizations. This observance was first established in 1952 to recognize the invaluable role administrative staff play in all sectors, including public service. City of Lodi Administrative Professionals play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our city's daily operations. Their dedication, efficiency, and professionalism are invaluable assets.
In addition to a wide range of clerical tasks, such as record-keeping and scheduling, administrative support staff's work often requires strong interpersonal skills, advanced knowledge and expertise in communications and social media, budgets, website design, office technology, project management, and supervision. These skills allow these individuals to be the key public relations ambassadors for their respective departments. Administrative support staff often serve as the first point of contact for residents, businesses, and other stakeholders, offering assistance and information with professionalism and courtesy. Their commitment to excellent customer service fosters positive relationships and trust with the community.
In recognition of Administrative Professionals Week, the Mayor and Councilmembers acknowledge and honor all Administrative Professionals for their hard work, dedication, and contributions to the city's daily operations.
