Adopt a resolution accepting the draft employment agreement and authorizing the corresponding budget allocation for Library Director salary at $167,000 per year subject to final consideration and approval by the Library Board of Trustees ("Board").

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Library Director position has been vacant since July 31, 2024, when the incumbent resigned. The vacant position was filled by temporary upgrade of an internal staff member for a period of time and most recently a Retired Annuitant has served as the Interim Library Director while Human Resources conducted a recruitment to fill the vacancy.
The Board completed the Director interview process, selected a final candidate, and negotiated the employment terms, including the proposed annual salary for the Library Director at $167,000 plus benefits as defined in the Executive Statement of Benefits, amended as of May 16, 2012.
At its May 28, 2025 Special Board meeting, the Board approved the draft employment agreement, which is attached for Council review and reference, and recommended it for Council's acceptance and authorization of the $167,000 annual budget allocation for the Library Director salary, subject to final Board approval at its June 9, 2025, Regular Meeting. Should the selected candidate successfully complete the City's final hiring and background check procedures, and receive final Board approval on June 9th, the candidate could begin in the Library Director position as soon as June 10, 2025.
