BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
In 2023, the City allocated $425,000 for the replacement of the pool HVAC Climate Control System at Hutchins Street Square (HSS). Due to advancements in system programming and the successful repair of the existing unit, the work was completed at a cost of $43,350, far below the original estimate.
As a result of the HVAC Climate Control system being inoperable for an extended period, the pool area experienced significant deterioration due to humidity, including rust, peeling paint, and corrosion to structural and aesthetic components.
