RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Set a Public Hearing for November 18, 2026, to consider adopting resolution adopting 2025 Urban Water Management Plan Update.

body

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

In July of 2026 the City entered into an agreement with Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group of Clovis to prepare the 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) update.  State law requires the UWMP be updated by all water suppliers every five years.  The City Council adopted the current UWMP on August 4, 2021.  The UWMP documents the City's plan to ensure adequate water supplies will meet existing and future water demands under a range of water supply conditions, including water shortages.

A summary of the 2025 UWMP update will be presented at the public hearing, scheduled for the November 18, 2026 Council meeting. The draft 2025 UWMP is available for public review on the City’s website.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This item has minimal long term fiscal impacts, however by maintaining an updated UWMP in accordance with State requirements, the City of Lodi remains eligible for various grant funding opportunities.

FUNDING AVAILABLE:

Funding for the plan update was included in the previously adopted budget. No funding is necessary for the adoption of the plan.
