body

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

Lodi Municipal Code (“LMC”) Chapter 2.04.020 currently requires that the Lodi City Council meet every Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m. for Informal Informational “Shirtsleeve” meetings, where staff provide information and updates regarding City projects and programs.

At the April 3, 2024, City Council Meeting, at the request of the City Council, staff presented information regarding the history, requirements, and options for holding such meetings. After Council discussion, staff was directed to bring forward an amendment to LMC Chapter 2.04.020, to modify the current language to allow Council to hold informal informational meetings as needed, in compliance with special meeting notice requirements, rather than at a set day and time each week.

Additionally, other non-substantive amendments will be made to correct outdated terms and references throughout Chapter 2.04.
