body

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

On May 15, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2024-77 for the purchase of the Armis Essentials Asset Vulnerability Management from ePlus Technology, Inc. The implementation of the Armis cybersecurity platform has increased network device and traffic visibility greatly improving the City’s overall cybersecurity posture.

City I.T. staff rely on a variety of cybersecurity tools such as Armis to continuously monitor network activity to proactively identify and isolate threats before they escalate. Armis complements traditional monitoring by offering in-depth asset discovery, behavior analysis, and risk mitigation capabilities, particularly valuable for protecting a wide range of connected devices (IoT - Internet of Things, OT - Operational Technology, IT - Information Technology).

Armis does not engage in direct-sales to customers; therefore, the purchase of these services is accomplished through contracts with value-added resellers (VAR) such as ePlus Technology, Inc. The current Armis service term expires on June 30, 2025. Executing a new Professional Service Agreement with ePlus Technology, Inc. will extend the Armis service term through June 29, 2026. The procurement process used to select this system was in accordance with LMC Section 3.20.077 - Acquisition of electronic hardware and software.

STRATEGIC VISION:

5A. Infrastructure: Invest in innovative infrastructure with a high Return of Investment.

Funding for Armis is included in the I.T. budget (10020400.72450)
