BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Grant Assistance Program solicited applications in September 2025 for alcohol-related enforcement and educational programs. On September 26, 2025, the Lodi Police Department received an acceptance letter securing grant funds in the amount of $30,000 for Fiscal Year 2025/26.

The funds will be used for Minor Decoy and Shoulder Tap operations to reduce youth access to alcohol, Informed Merchants Preventing Alcohol-related Crime Tendencies (IMPACT) inspections, and enforcement during the holidays. These programs increase safety on our public roadways by addressing alcohol-related harm in the community.

Consistent with the grant timeline, October 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026, staff further requests that unspent appropriations at the end of Fiscal Year 2025-26 roll to Fiscal Year 2026-2027.
