body

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Lodi Transit Station building was restored in 1999, after being relocated from the adjacent property. That restoration included the installation of a new asphalt shingle (composite) roof. That roof is at the end of its useful life, and has had multiple leaks in recent years. These leaks are causing dry rot, as well as mold and other weather-related issues.

This project will remove the existing roof, repair any damaged structural components (including dry rot), install new roof flashing and felt paper, and install a new “30 year” composite roof.

With the intention of completing this project prior to winter, staff intends to utilize the City’s Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act portion of the adopted purchasing policy (for projects estimated between $60,000 and $200,000). Staff will provide a breakdown of the bids received at the time the project is accepted.

The specifications are on file in the Public Works Department. The planned bid due date is June 26, 2024. The project estimate is $180,000.

STRATEGIC VISION:

5C. Infrastructure: Address deferred maintenance.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This project will reduce the costs related to ongoing roof leaks and associated building damage. This project will not impact the General Fund.

FUNDING AVAILABLE:

Previously Approved Funds (Remaining Balance):

State of Good Repairs (PWTR-20002) $293,703
