body
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The requested action will amend the zoning ordinance (also known as the Development Code) and address the second phase of code changes needed to create consistency with the Lodi General Plan. This is proposed in accordance with state law (Government Code §65860) that requires a city’s zoning ordinance to be consistent with its General Plan, which is the overarching policy and community vision for a how a city intends to grow itself. Additionally, changes to the Development Code are recommended to address recently approved state planning laws that supersede any portion of City code and provide further streamlining of existing processes, in addition to a handful of clean-up items for clarification purposes. Key proposed changes include:
• Relaxation of certain development standards to encourage housing development.
• Establishment of development and operation standards for Food truck parks, Gas stations (fueling stations), and Short-term rentals.
STRATEGIC VISIONS:
2B. Expand and diversify economic opportunities.
3B. Fiscal Health: Diversified revenue mix to reflect economic prosperity of the community.
4E. Adopt standards and policies to promote housing for all economic levels.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Not applicable.
