RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution Approving the Appropriation of Funds to Cover the Additional Expenditure for City Firewalls in the Amount of $293,816.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
In FY23-24, Information Technology division had an approved budget for replacement of I.T. equipment that supports City services. While working with the City’s select vendor for a replacement of the City’s expired firewall, it was brought to staff’s attention that the City needed to upgrade to a larger system. The extra cost of the new firewall was not budgeted for in FY23-24 budget.
Staff recommends approving revenue appropriations of $293,816 from all funds and approving expense appropriations to cover the additional expense in I.T. replacement fund of $293,816. This will cover the additional expense incurred by the required upgrade to the City’s firewalls.
