BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
As part of the City's efforts to maintain a strong cyber-security profile and improve the protection of City network assets, I.T. staff utilize various methods of monitoring cyber activity. Network monitoring provides continuous visibility into network activity, enabling proactive threat detection and response. Network monitoring tools provide a real-time view of network traffic, revealing suspicious activity and potential breaches. This allows I.T. team to identify and isolate threats before they escalate. Armis complements traditional monitoring by offering in-depth asset discovery, behavior analysis, and risk mitigation capabilities, particularly valuable for protecting a wide range of connected devices (IoT - Internet of Things, OT - Operational Technology, IT - Information Technology).
Staff recommend purchasing Armis Essentials Asset Vulnerability Management from ePlus Technology, Inc., of Rocklin to increase the Cyber security profile across the City's network, enhance visibility of network traffic, improve threat detection, faster incident response and adhere to governmental governance and compliance. The purchase of the application is done through a value-added reseller (VAR) EPLUS, since Armis does not sell this product directly to customers.
