Adopt a resolution approving Amendment No.2 to Professional Services Agreement with Unifirst - First Aid Corporation for Citywide First Aid and Safety Services.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Currently, first aid stations in City facilities are managed independently by each department, leading to inconsistent practices, variable pricing, and challenges in ensuring full compliance with Cal/OSHA requirements. Risk Management is proposing to consolidate the oversight and management of all first aid supplies and stations under a single citywide contract. This consolidation would create a uniform standard for service and compliance, improve safety across all departments, and enable the City to leverage more favorable pricing.

Unifirst has been identified as the preferred vendor for this initiative. The Electrical Utility Department and Public Works currently maintain a multi-year contract with Unifirst, which provides advantageous pricing, reliable service, and demonstrated compliance support. By extending the use of Unifirst's services citywide, the City can streamline operations, capitalize on existing negotiated rates. It should be noted that safety services are exempt from bidding per LMC Section 3.20.075 Subsection 6. Unifirst's proven track record with existing City departments further supports their selection as the vendor best positioned to meet the City's needs efficiently and cost-effectively.
