RECOMMENDED ACTION:

body
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
In the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (Public Law 118-42) (the FY2024 Act), and the Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024 (Public Law 118-47) (the Further FY2024 Act), Congress made $3,290,054,336 in funding available for Community Project Funding (CPF). These CPF awards are administered by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

City staff applied for CPF funds for rehabilitation costs of the Reimagined Housing on Main and was awarded $500,000. Although this funding was awarded late 2024, a request to accept and appropriate the funds was delayed until phase 1 of the rehabilitation project was completed and a draft grant agreement was received by HUD.

It is recommended that City Council adopt a resolution accepting and appropriating the CPF grant funds in the amount of $500,000 and authorizing the City Manager to execute the CPF subrecipient agreement in a form acceptable by the City Attorney because the final subrecipient agreement has not been received.
