Adopt a resolution authorizing Interim City Manager to waive the bid process, purchase four (4) John Deere Pro Gator 2030A Diesel Model Utility Vehicles from BELKORP AG of Stockton, California using cooperative agreement with Sourcewell Grounds Maintenance Equipment Contract #112624-DAC and appropriate funds in the amount of $180,000.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department (PRCS) currently has five (5) utility vehicles that are non-operational due to replacement parts no longer being available. These vehicles are approximately 12 to 15 years old and have been used daily for maintenance operations at Lodi Lake and various in-town park facilities. The on-road vehicles support a wide range of operations including landscape maintenance, homeless encampment cleanups, material hauling and ballfield preparation.

Staff has spent considerable time comparing other utility vehicles and pricing and believes that the John Deere model provides greater safety features and towing capacity than comparable units offered by other manufacturers at a reasonable price. Refer to Attachment 1 - Quote.

City Council authorized city participation in cooperative purchasing programs such as the US Communities Nationwide Purchasing Program. Sourcewell Grounds Maintenance Equipment Contract #112624-DAC is a part of this program and offers a discounted rate. Refer to Attachment 2 - Contract #112624-DAC.
