BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
For more than 60 years, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has celebrated National Small Business Week to acknowledge the critical contributions America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners have made in their communities and neighborhoods. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, creating approximately two out of every three new jobs in the United States each year.
As a part of National Small Business Week, the SBA takes the opportunity to officially recognize and highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs and small business owners from across the county. Every day, their hard work, ingenuity, and dedication translates into growing their businesses, creating good jobs, driving innovation, and increasing global, national and local competitiveness.
This year the City of Lodi, in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce, will participate in a series of activities designed to support small businesses. These include: promoting the Lodi Street Faire, participating in a Business Walk along Kettleman Lane to promote business resources, hosting a business mixer and a ribbon cutting event. The City and the Chamber will also feature small businesses on their social media channels throughout the week.
