BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The City acquired the building at 22 South Main Street, Lodi, CA as part of a transitional housing program. The building originally had a standalone video surveillance system that monitored the premises. The local video server was vandalized during a break-in of the building and could not be repaired to restore services.
Maintaining a modern video surveillance system improves protection of City assets, which includes equipment, infrastructure, and staff. The enhanced video resolution and coverage angles improves identification of faces and vehicles. The digital video surveillance system stores all the footage from the cameras on a digital video recorder, giving a centralized management point for Community Development and Police. The Information Technology Division plans to keep the current location of cameras that monitor parts of the interior and exterior of the building.

In October of 2017, City Council approved resolution 2017-187 for Quest Media and Supply Inc., to install and maintain the City's video surveillance system. Quest Media and Supply Inc., continues to support and maintain the Avigilon video surveillance system and cameras.
