BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The Mayor has been requested to present a proclamation proclaiming the week of February 3-7, 2025 as “News Literacy Week” in the City of Lodi.
With the increasing popularity of social media and various news outlets, news literacy education empowers individuals to develop the skills needed to successfully navigate today’s information landscape. News literacy programs teach people how to identify what they can trust, share, and act on, helping them become better informed, more engaged and feel like equal participants in the civic life of their community, their country and the world.
