Adopt a Resolution appointing Christina Jaromay to the position of City Treasurer of the City of Lodi effective February 19, 2026.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Every governmental agency that administers funds must have an officer who receives and handles such funds and thereby acts in the capacity of Treasurer. The duties of the City Treasurer are: to receive and safely keep all money coming into the treasury; to comply with all laws governing the depositing and securing of public funds; to pay money only on warrants signed by legally designated persons; and to submit a monthly written report and accounting of receipts; disbursements and funds balances to the City Clerk and City Council.
On September 3, 2025, the Lodi City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2033 amending LMC Section 2.44.040, allowing the City Council to appoint the Interim City Manager to also serve as the City Treasurer and appointed Interim City Manager James Lindsay as City Treasurer. Mr. Lindsay will be resigning from City employment as he is nearing the maximum hours CalPERS Retired Annuitants are allowed to work for a CalPERS agency in a fiscal year.
The appointed City Treasurer position has historically been filled by the Assistant City Manager or the Deputy City Manager, which has been reclassified to an Administrative Services Director. The Administrative Services Director position is currently open for recruitment. Since July 2025, Christina Jaromay has been overseeing the Internal Services Department, in addition to the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department.
