BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
This project consists of placing approximately 3 miles of extruded thermoplastic traffic striping and 1,900 square feet of thermoplastic traffic legends at locations shown in Exhibit A. Since 2009, the City has been using extruded thermoplastic traffic stripes rather than sprayed thermoplastic. The extruded thermoplastic material is a superior product because it lasts much longer.
Staff utilized the City's Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act portion of the adopted purchasing policy (for projects estimated between $60,000 and $200,000) and informally bid out the project to contractors on the City's Informal Bidding Contractors List. The City received the following two bids for this project on April 9, 2024:
